A train ride from Vienna.

Senior engineers next door, on your hours, under the same EU rules.

Austrian companies outsource software development to neighbouring Czechia to add senior engineers in a market where IT firms cover only part of their hiring demand. Yarify is a senior team in Prague on CET, the same time zone as Vienna, Graz and Linz, and a direct train ride from Vienna. Contracts are under EU law, personal data stays under GDPR, and industry surveys put senior Central European rates at about $60–80 an hour versus $110–160 in Western Europe. We work in English.

Austria is short of exactly these people

Austrian IT companies say they can fill only about 70% of their demand for skilled staff, with the biggest gaps in software engineering and web development, according to FH Technikum Wien. Each open senior role is a feature that waits.

Prague is the nearest large engineering city to Vienna outside Austria. The same clock, the same EU rules, and a team that can start in weeks instead of after a search and a notice period.

Questions buyers ask us

Why do Austrian companies outsource software development to Czechia?

It is next door: the same time zone, EU law and GDPR, a direct train from Vienna, and senior engineers at Central European rather than Austrian onshore cost, without waiting on a hard-to-fill hire.

Does the Austrian AÜG apply?

The AÜG covers labour leasing, where a client directs leased workers like its own staff. A fixed-scope project or a managed team delivering agreed work can be structured differently. Your lawyer confirms the classification of your engagement.

Is a Prague team GDPR compliant for an Austrian company?

Both countries are in the EU, so GDPR applies on both sides and there is no third-country transfer. We sign a data processing agreement and keep personal data in EU regions.

Do you work in German?

We work in English: calls, code, pull requests and documentation. If your project needs German content or documents, plan for that on your side.

How is an Austrian client invoiced?

You contract with Yarify s.r.o., a Czech company. EU business clients with a VAT ID are generally invoiced under the reverse-charge mechanism. Confirm the treatment with your accountant.

Can we meet in person?

Yes. Vienna and Prague are connected by direct trains and short flights, so in-person kick-offs and workshops are practical. Day-to-day work runs remotely in your tools.
