Dutch companies outsource software development to Central Europe because senior developers are hard to hire at home and freelancer arrangements carry classification risk. Yarify is a senior team in Prague on CET, the same time zone as Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Engineering runs in English, which most Dutch tech teams already use. You contract one EU company for a defined service, personal data stays under GDPR, and industry surveys put senior Central European rates at about $60–80 an hour versus $110–160 in Western Europe.

Senior, without recruiting
Why Dutch teams look beyond the border
Dutch ICT employers have reported most vacancies as hard to fill for years, and UWV keeps ICT on its list of sectors where shortages persist. Senior developers with a specific stack are the hardest to find.
The usual workaround was a row of ZZP freelancers. Since the Dutch Tax Administration resumed enforcement of the Wet DBA in January 2025, that route needs more care: a freelancer who works like an employee can be reclassified. Buying a defined service from a company is a different arrangement, and a team in Prague works your hours without the recruiting wait.

What Dutch companies hire us for
-
A dedicated team
Two to five seniors working as your product team, on a monthly price. See dedicated development team.
-
Seniors next to your developers
Engineers who join your stand-ups, repo and board. See staff augmentation.
-
A new product at a fixed price
A written scope, one price, weekly demos. See MVP development.
-
A project another vendor left
An audit, then a fixed price to stabilise it. See software rescue.
What to check with any vendor
General points to raise with your own legal and data advisors. Not legal advice.
- The contract buys a defined service or result, not individual people you direct like staff; your advisor checks it against the Wet DBA
- A data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR) is signed before personal data is shared
- Personal data, backups and logs stay in EU regions
- IP and copyright are assigned to your company in writing
- Code lives in your repository and deploys to your cloud accounts
- Notice period and handover duties are written down
How we work with Dutch teams
-
Free call · Day one
Thirty minutes with the engineer who would do the work. Direct questions get direct answers.
-
Scope or team plan · Week 1
A fixed price for fixed scope, or a monthly price for a team.
-
Work in your tools
Your GitHub or GitLab, Jira or Linear, Slack or Teams.
-
Meet when it matters
Prague is a direct flight of about an hour and a half from Amsterdam, so kick-offs in person are easy.
Your code. Your cloud. Two weeks' notice.
Teams and augmentation bill monthly and end with 2 weeks' notice. On fixed-scope MVP and rescue work, overruns on our estimate are ours. You own 100% of the code and IP from day one. We are based in Prague; there is no Dutch office.

Questions buyers ask us
Why do Dutch companies outsource software development to Central Europe?
Senior developers are hard to hire in the Netherlands, and Central Europe offers the same time zone, EU law and GDPR, English-speaking engineers, and senior rates well below Dutch onshore cost.
Does the Wet DBA apply when we outsource to your company?
The Wet DBA is about whether a self-employed person is really working as an employee. Buying a defined service from a company, which manages its own people and delivers a result, is a different arrangement. Have your advisor confirm how your specific engagement is classified.
Is a Prague team GDPR compliant for a Dutch company?
Both countries are in the EU, so GDPR applies on both sides and there is no third-country transfer. We sign a data processing agreement and keep personal data in EU regions.
Do you work in Dutch?
No. We work in English: calls, tickets, code and documentation. Most Dutch engineering teams already work in English, so this rarely changes anything.
How is a Dutch client invoiced?
You contract with Yarify s.r.o., a Czech company. EU business clients with a VAT ID are generally invoiced under the reverse-charge mechanism. Confirm the treatment with your accountant.
How quickly can a team start?
Typically within weeks of the first call, once scope or a team plan is agreed. That is usually faster than one senior hire through notice period and onboarding.
