You own the code
100% of the IP, day one.
Staff augmentation means adding external engineers to your own team, working under your technical lead, in your tools. Yarify’s staff augmentation services embed senior engineers from our own core team, not contractors from a marketplace. They join your repo, standups and chat and report to your lead. Billing is monthly, you can end it with 2 weeks’ notice, and you own all code and IP from day one.
Skip the hiring. Keep the headcount flexible.

When augmentation is the right call
-
A roadmap spike
A launch or a big client deal doubled the backlog. Add capacity without a permanent hire.
-
A missing skill
Spring Boot, Next.js, Python or LLM integration that nobody on your team has done before.
-
A hire that will take months
Keep shipping while you recruit. The engineer can help onboard your new hire.
-
Uncertain demand
You need senior hands now and flexibility in three months. Two weeks’ notice gives you both.
How embedding an engineer works
-
Free call · Day 1
Your stack, team and gap. We say honestly who is available, and when.
-
Engineer match · After the call
We propose one specific person. You interview them directly.
-
Access and setup · First days
Repo, tracker, chat and environments. Read the code, run it locally.
-
First merged pull request · First week
A real ticket from your backlog, reviewed by your lead.
-
Full sprint capacity · Ongoing
Works your process: sprints, reviews, on-call if agreed.
Staff augmentation vs freelancers vs hiring

|---|---|---|---|
| Vetting | Engineers from our own core team | Platform screening, then your interviews | Your full recruiting process |

| Cost structure | Monthly fee, no recruiting fees | Hourly plus platform fees | Salary, taxes, benefits, recruiting |
No lock-in. Two weeks’ notice.
Monthly billing, 2 weeks’ notice to end or reduce it, and all code and IP is yours from day one because it never leaves your repository.
- No minimum term beyond the notice period
- Clean handover notes when the engagement ends
What staff augmentation costs
Market data puts senior Central and Eastern European engineers at about $60–80 an hour, versus $140–200+ for senior engineers in the US. No recruiting fees, no employer taxes, no notice periods.
You get a monthly price per engineer after the call. Regional comparison: software developer rates.

Questions buyers ask us
What is staff augmentation in software development?
Adding external engineers to your existing team for a period of time. They work under your technical leadership, in your tools and process, and you direct their work. A dedicated team instead owns a whole stream end to end.
Are your engineers employees or freelancers?
They are part of Yarify’s core team of senior engineers, the same people who build our fixed-price projects. We do not resell strangers from a marketplace. That is why capacity is limited, and why we tell you honestly on the first call who is available.
Can I interview the engineer before they start?
Yes, and you should. We propose a specific person and you talk to them directly about your stack, your codebase and how they would approach your backlog. No generic shortlist of CVs.
What are the contract terms for staff augmentation?
Monthly billing, two weeks’ notice to end or reduce the engagement, no long lock-in. You own all code and IP from day one, because the work happens in your repository.
Is staff augmentation cheaper than hiring a developer?
Per hour, a salary often looks cheaper. In total cost it often is not: recruiting, employer taxes, benefits, onboarding and a bad hire add up. For a permanent role, hiring usually wins. For a gap, a spike or a specialist skill, augmentation usually does.
Which time zone do your engineers work in?
CET. Full overlap with European teams and a useful overlap with US East Coast mornings for standups, reviews and pairing. We agree fixed overlap hours at the start.
