Belgian companies outsource software development to Central Europe to add senior engineers without long recruiting cycles in a tight IT market. Yarify is a senior team in Prague on CET, the same time zone as Brussels, Antwerp and Ghent. We work in English, which often becomes the neutral language in teams that mix Dutch and French speakers. Contracts are under EU law, personal data stays under GDPR, and industry surveys put senior Central European rates at about $60–80 an hour versus $110–160 in Western Europe.

Three regions, one shortage
Belgium publishes its shortage occupations region by region, through VDAB in Flanders, Actiris in Brussels and Le Forem in Wallonia. IT profiles, and software developers in particular, keep showing up as hard to fill.
Many Belgian teams also mix Dutch and French speakers. A team that works in English sits neatly between them: one set of tickets, one language in code review, no translation in the stand-up.

What to check with any vendor
General points to raise with your own legal and data advisors. Not legal advice.
- Belgian law restricts putting workers at a client's disposal; the contract should buy a service the vendor manages, and your lawyer confirms the structure
- A data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR) is signed before personal data is shared
- Personal data, backups and logs stay in EU regions
- IP is assigned to your company in writing
- Code lives in your repository and deploys to your cloud accounts
- Notice period and handover duties are written down

Questions buyers ask us
Why do Belgian companies outsource software development to the Czech Republic?
The same time zone, EU law and GDPR on both sides, English as a neutral working language, and senior engineers at Central European rather than Belgian onshore cost, without waiting on a hard-to-fill hire.
Do you work in Dutch or French?
We work in English: calls, tickets, code and documentation. For teams that mix Dutch and French speakers, that is often simpler than picking one of the two.
Is outsourcing to a Czech company allowed under Belgian labour rules?
Belgium restricts putting workers at another company's disposal. A service contract where the vendor manages its own people and delivers agreed work is a different arrangement. Your lawyer confirms the right structure for your engagement.
Is a Prague team GDPR compliant for a Belgian company?
Both countries are in the EU, so GDPR applies on both sides and there is no third-country transfer. We sign a data processing agreement and keep personal data in EU regions.
How is a Belgian client invoiced?
You contract with Yarify s.r.o., a Czech company. EU business clients with a VAT ID are generally invoiced under the reverse-charge mechanism. Confirm the treatment with your accountant.
How much cheaper than hiring in Brussels?
Industry surveys put senior Central European rates at about $60–80 an hour against $110–160 in Western Europe, before recruiting time and employer costs. We do not publish rates; you get a fixed or monthly quote after a free call.
