Stalled at 80%? We finish it.
Software project rescue: free audit, honest verdict, fixed price to finish.

Fixed price
Overruns are on us.

You own the code
100% of the IP, day one.
Software project rescue means taking over a stalled or abandoned codebase, finding out what is actually wrong, and getting it to production. Yarify starts with a free code audit and a written verdict: salvage, refactor or rebuild. If you go ahead, you get a fixed price for an agreed written scope. If our estimate was wrong, the extra hours are our cost. You own the code, and we work in your repository.

Projects we take over
-
Stalled at 80%
The demo works. Payments, edge cases and deployment never got finished.
-
The vendor vanished
No handover, no README, no tests. Sometimes no access to the cloud account.
-
Vibe-coded apps
Built fast with AI tools. Works in a demo, breaks with real users and real data.
-
Live and on fire
Users depend on it and every release breaks something. Stabilise first, then fix.
How a software project rescue works
-
Secure access · Phase 1
Repo, cloud, domain and app store accounts back in your hands.
-
Free audit and verdict · Phase 1
Code, architecture, security, deployment. Salvage, refactor or rebuild, in writing.
-
Fixed-price rescue scope · Phase 2
Exactly what we will deliver, and one price for it.
-
Stabilise · Phase 3, first
Backups, monitoring, staging and a safe deploy pipeline.
-
Fix and finish · Phase 3, weekly
Weekly demos on staging until the scope is done.
-
Launch and hand over · Phase 3, end
Production release, docs and a walkthrough.
Fixed price. We eat the overruns.
Once the audit is done and the rescue scope is written down, the quoted price for that agreed scope is the price you pay. If our estimate was wrong, the extra hours are our cost. Changes you request are quoted separately before work starts.
- The audit is free and you keep the report either way
- Fixed price for the written rescue scope
Salvage, refactor or rebuild
| Verdict | When it fits | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Salvage | Sound architecture, unfinished features and missing ops | Finish the scope, add tests and monitoring, launch |
| Refactor | It works, but data model, auth or deploys are shaky | Fix foundations module by module while it keeps running |
| Rebuild | Fixing costs more than rewriting | New codebase, reusing designs, data and any modules worth keeping |
Why rescues fail twice
The second failed vendor
- Starts adding features on day one
- Blames the old code, quotes hourly
- No staging, deploys straight to production
- Leaves the same mess for the next team
Yarify rescue
- Audit and written verdict first
- Fixed price for the agreed rescue scope
- Stabilise, then change through staging
- Tests, docs and a clean handover
What a rescue costs
Enterprise rescue vendors quote $120k–$350k for fixed-scope rescues. A boutique senior team can usually come in well below that, because nobody is billing for account management.
Your price depends on the verdict. Read our guide on taking over a software project or fixing AI-generated code.

Questions buyers ask us
Can you take over a software project from another developer?
Yes. We start with a free audit: access to the repository, servers and any docs, then a written verdict. Code with no README, no tests and no handover is the normal starting point. If you lack access to something, we help you recover it first.
My developer disappeared. What should I do first?
Secure what you own: domain, cloud account, code repository, app store and payment accounts. Change the passwords and API keys you can reach. Then request a free code audit. Do not let anyone add features before that.
Is it cheaper to fix or to rebuild a broken app?
Usually fixing, but not always. If the architecture and data model are sound, salvaging is faster and cheaper. If the foundations are wrong, patching never ends and a rebuild wins. The free audit gives you a written recommendation with the reasoning.
Can you fix an app built with AI coding tools?
Yes. Vibe-coded apps often work in a demo and fall apart in production: no tests, duplicated logic, exposed API keys. We keep what is good, fix the foundations and add tests and monitoring. Sometimes a clean rebuild using the prototype as a spec is faster.
Does the fixed-price guarantee apply to rescue projects?
Yes, for the agreed rescue scope. After the audit we write down exactly what we will deliver and quote one fixed price. If our estimate was wrong, the extra hours are our cost. New requests are quoted separately first.
Will my app go offline during the rescue?
Not if we can avoid it. With live users we stabilise first: backups, monitoring, a safe deploy pipeline and staging. Changes go through staging before production. If a migration needs downtime, we plan it with you in advance.
